Our Mission:
To make Champaign County a safe, innovative, and high-quality community for aging residents.
Advocates for aging care was formed to stand up for quality, affordable, and innovative nursing home care in Champaign County. We work with local government officials, non-profit administrators, health officials, and concerned citizens to resolve issues surrounding the shortage of quality nursing home beds for the elderly and their families.
Testimonials
"While I am not yet in need of this care, many of my friends in the "sandwich generation" are unable to find local skilled nursing care for their parents. This is a significant problem that we've learned is only going to worsen unless we seek long-term solutions."
Sarah Laufenberg
“I am involved in AAC because I think it is important for the community to care for our elderly, especially when they are at their most vulnerable and their families are facing a crisis."
Cathy Emanuel
"I became involved in ACC because the need was clear to me. I experienced the impact from two perspectives, both professionally while working at Carle related to extended patient stays, and personally while caring for some older friends, for whom we could not readily find local care options that would meet their needs. Our community will benefit from increased access to skilled nursing beds and I am fortunate to be a part of a group who wants to facilitate a long term solution."
